I’m happy to announce I’ve become a member of the editorial board of Defense and Peace Economics. I look forward to assisting with the growth of the journal and encourage researchers working in the area of conflict and defense economics to strongly consider the journal for their work.
Just got back from the 10th Defence and Security Economics Workshop at Carleton University in Ottawa. As always, a number of interesting sessions and a friendly group. Great to have the chance to present my paper Conflict and the Military Expenditure-Growth Link. Appreciate the feedback from everyone!

My coauthor Gary Hoover (Alabama) is at the University of West Virginia today to present our work on economic freedom and the black-white income gap in the United States. We will be presenting this work at the upcoming AEA meetings in Boston.
